These funding opportunities can be used to pay for approved educational expenses such as private school tuition, textbooks, exams, transportation, and more! The most common types of programs available to families are education savings accounts (ESAs), vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, and refundable tax-credits. We’ve rounded up which programs are currently accepting applications below.
State Application Processes
Empowerment Scholarship Account – This program provides funding to students for approved education expenses, such as private school tuition, curriculum, home education, and more. Every K-12 student in Arizona is eligible to participate in the program! Applications are accepted year-round, with funding being distributed to parents on a quarterly basis. Apply today!
Arkansas Education Freedom Account (EFA) Program – This program provides families with funding that can be used for approved educational expenses such as private school tuition, homeschool curriculum, tutoring, educational therapies, and more. All K-12 students in the state of Arkansas are eligible to apply! The application window opened March 9, 2026 and the last day to apply is June 1, 2026 – Apply today!
Private School Scholarship – The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FEC-EO) both share one application, giving families financial assistance for private school tuition and related costs. Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities – This scholarship gives families access to an education savings account for their student with unique abilities where they can direct funds towards a combination of programs and providers, such as schools, therapists, specialists, technology, and more. This scholarship is available for students starting at age 3 and ending when they complete grade 12 or turn 22 years old. Applications are now open, apply today!
Indiana Education Scholarship Account – The Education Scholarship Account is an education savings account available to student with special needs and their siblings. The application window runs from March 1, 2026 through September 1, 2026 – fine out if you qualify and apply today!
Students First Education Savings Account – The Students First ESA program allows parents who choose to send their student to a participating private school to receive their child’s education funding in an online account. These funds can be used for approved educational expenses, such as private school tuition, tutoring, educational therapies, and more. The application window runs from April 16, 2026 through June 30, 2026 – apply today!
Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Scholarship Program – This program provides scholarship to K-12 students who qualify for free and reduced price meals and are accepted and/or attending a participating nonpublic school. The funds can be used for tuition and fees at the school in which the student is enrolled. Applications opened March 9, 2026 and the deadline to apply is May 8, 2026 – apply today!
Equal Opportunity for Students with Special Needs Program – This education savings account program provides funding for students who reside in Mississippi and have an active IEP. Once enrolled, the funds can be used for approved educational expenses such as tuition, tutoring, therapies, and more. Applications are accepted year round. To ensure that students have access to funding prior to the start of the school year, the Mississippi Department of Education recommends that applications be submitted from December through May. Applications are available through your local public school or on the Mississippi Department of Education’s website.
Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program (MOScholars) – This program is a tax-credit education savings account that provides funding to eligible students who have an approved IEP or meet household income requirements. Students who qualify for the program can receive funding for approved educational expenses, such as tuition, therapy, or transportation. Families should follow the steps outlined on the Missouri State Treasurer’s website and apply through an Educational Assistance Organization (EAO).
Nevada Educational Choice Scholarship Program – This tax-credit scholarship program offers funding to students who meet eligibility requirements for approved educational expenses, such as tuition, fees, and transportation costs associated with attending a private school. The Nevada Department of Education does not send or accept scholarship applications – parents and guardians need to apply directly with the Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). The Nevada Department of Education houses a list of registered SGOs on its website.
Education Freedom Account – Education Freedom Accounts (EFA) are grants from the State of New Hampshire made directly to families to be used for qualified educational expenses, such as tuition, tutoring, online learning programs, technology, and more. To qualify for the program families must be NH residents, have a student eligible for K-12 education, and sign an annual agreement outlining program terms. Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 school year. To receive the full EFA grant a completed application must be submitted by July 15, 2026 – apply today!
Opportunity Scholarship – The Opportunity Scholarship is a voucher program that provides scholarship to help with private school expenses, such as tuition and fees, for qualifying students. Scholarship amounts are awarded on a tiered basis based on household incomes, giving priority to low-income families. The priority application window has closed, however the application remains open and scholarship will be awarded in the order they are received if there are funds available after the priority applicants have been awarded. Oklahoma Parental Tax Credit Act: This refundable income tax credit is available to Oklahoma taxpayers who pay, or expect to pay, qualified expenses such as tuition and fees to an eligible private school or homeschool. Families who are interested in participating will need to submit an affidavit from the private school they are enrolled in or will enroll in. Once approved, families will receive their tax credit in two installments during the year. Application for the 2026-2027 school year are now open and the last day to apply is Monday, June 15, 2026 – apply today!
Partners in Education Tax Credit Program – This program offers scholarships, funded by companies donating to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs), to students who meet household income eligibility criteria or are in foster care. The application window is now open and applications must be submitted by May 31, 2026 – apply today!
Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program – This tax-credit funded scholarship program offers scholarships to eligible students who are attending participating private schools and non-public pre-kindergarten programs. The approved scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) make payments directly to the eligible school indicated on the application. To apply for the program, families should first contact an approved non-public school or pre-kindergarten program – the Virginia Department of Education’s website has an interactive map of participating schools.
Hope Scholarship – This program offers qualifying students funding through an education savings account that can be for approved educational expenses such as tuition, homeschool curriculum, and other qualifying expenses. The program accepts applications year-round, but the application window in which you apply determines the amount of funding students receive. There are 4 application windows for the 2026-2027 school year:
- March 2, 2026 – June 15, 2026: 100% of Scholarship – Apply today!
- June 16, 2026 – Sep 15, 2026: 75% of Scholarship
- Sep 16, 2026 – Nov 30, 2026: 50% of Scholarship
- Dec 1, 2026 – Feb 28, 2027: 25% of Scholarship
Private School Choice Programs- The Private School Choice Programs in Wisconsin include the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP), the Racine Parental Choice Program (RPCP), and the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program or statewide program (WPCP). These programs allow eligible students to attend a participating private school starting with four year-old kindergarten (K4) through 12th grade – apply today!
Open application periods vary by choice program, but generally parents can apply to the programs from the 1st – 20th of the month from February through September. School Choice Wisconsin lists out the full application windows on their website.
